Characteristic

There are two major characteristics when it comes to this device.

First is the use of Type-C USB interface that can be a positive or a negative plug.

This innovation is great, as we think that this standard should be implemented everywhere, and be universal, as it is intenationed. Faster speeds of charging and data transfer are great features every piece of hardware should use. Mirror fingerprint recognition is at the back of the phone, which is a standard for the high-end phones. Considering the configuration, the price of 10999 rupees, and then the appearance of this phone, the question is: is it worth buying? Let’s look at the other characteristics:

On the front side the ID no-frame design is used, it looks and feels excellent when put on the screen. If you examine thoroughly, you can also see the black lines on the sides, superbly placed in this model as complementary hardware and software. The default wallpaper mostly consists of dark lines. Therefore, the standard display achieves a kind of an infinity effect.

If you are looking for a stylish with premium built, high performance and lot of hardware specifications smartphone this Phone for you.  This smartphone is a China branded/made phone, this is a sort of mid-range phone but same quality as high end smartphones. The Pros/advantages and Cons/disadvantages of Letv Le 1S review with specifications has been given below.

Review of Letv Le 1S

Though this is sort of mid-range smartphone, this device is extremely well built and it feels very very premium. It got enormous bezel less design with beautiful clean metal trim body. The body is made up with aircraft-grade aluminium and whole device weight is 169 Grams and 7.5 mm thin. It supports 5.5 inch display, below the display we have three touch capacitive buttons, touch buttons light up in a really nice uniform manner. The overall built quality and design is flawless, solid and fell premium.

This handset comes with 5.5 inches IPS Full High Definition display with 401 pixel density. The display sharp and vivid, flawless touch responsive with good viewing angles. The sunlight legibility of the display is also good. This is a certainly good display to considering this price range.

Le 1S engine Powered by Mediatek Helios X10 Turbo processor which is a Octa Core Processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and processor coupled with 3 GB RAM. The configuration of the Phone is good enough to offer you seamless gaming and multi-tasking experience. It didn't face any lags, but barely tends to lag otherwise excellent performer. It runs on custom User Interface known as EUI based on Android Lollipop. There is no lags notices while using this custom User Interface. The overall Performance of this device is very good, it handles multi-tasking with ease and doesn't show any lags or heating issues even while playing heavy games.

This device comes with 13 MP Primary camera with single LED flash and 5 MP front facing camera. Both cameras capable of taking impressive shots, the images taken by this phone good detailing and clarity. But in indoor/low light scenario captures images shows slightly noise however, it can capture decent images in low lighting conditions. The overall camera quality good enough to considering in this price point.

At the bottom of the device, there are three touch buttons. Looking from left to right, those are multitasking, Home key, and the back key.

These three buttons with hidden design are normally completely invisible, but in contact with the backlight will light up, thus enabling both simplicity and functionality.

The Le 1s model, when compared to the previous generation of similar products, carries a significant difference in the use of the integrated aviation aluminum metal body. When processed into a fine matte surface, this material feels great in the hand and improves handling. If you look carefully, the antenna partition on the upper and lower part of the phone’s backside is made with a different color. The partitions enhance the appearance by adding an attractive color pattern.

A unique feature of the Le 1s model is its fingerprint recognition capabilities. The current 10000 rupee devices have a fingerprint identification built in with five units of recognition. The Le 1s’ fingerprint recognition system uses the “mirror” design that is certainly the most advanced in that group. The actual speed of unlocking is same as the iPhone 6S. The only drawback is the mirror is more easily contaminated with fingerprints, so it requires frequent cleaning as skin oil get sticks to it sometimes.

The top and bottom of Le 1s are symmetrical. The Le phones were one of the earliest to incorporate USB Type-C connectors, following the new trend of advanced USB connectors.

The phone also supports Qualcomm QC 2.0 fast charge protocol that allows up to 24W fast charge standard. The official statement said that it can achieve the “Charge 5 minutes, 3.5 hours talk” regime.

Telephony/Network

Also, the Le 1s is a dual card, dual standby mobile phone, providing a Nano SIM card slot and a Micro SIM card slot, and does not distinguish between a primary and a secondary card. Users can freely place a  4G card and any other 4G card, a simple input in your system allows for dual SIM settings and switching between data network.

“Charging five minutes, call two hours” is the slogan surely that was confirmed, because several recently launched OPPO phones support VOOC flash charging technology. The Le 1s having evolved into the third generation has the possibility to determine its charging speed.

Battery / Charging

Although LeTV claimed they have their “Le flash charging technology,” we are looking at the Qualcomm Quick Charge

2. Qualcomm fast charge has been upgraded to QC 3, so the mobile phone field maximum power remained 24W (12V/2A).

The voltage is further subdivided to be compatible with more devices.

You can see that the Le 1s model charger is quite large, its specifications of the input voltage are 100V-240V which means that it can be used worldwide.

There are three output specifications: 9V/2.7A, 12V/2A, 5V/2.7A, with the maximum output power of 24.3W (9 x 2.7). That is only a theoretical value; the actual output power depends on the support type of the mobile phone.

11.94V / 1.84A = 22W! Charging speed, proven on the real test, went from 0% to 20% in 20 minutes. It took 60 minutes to charge up to 70%. The first half can be considered very fast; every minute charges the battery with more than 1%. But from 70%, after it enters trickle charge mode, 25 minutes are needed to reach 80%. From 80% to 90% took almost 25 minutes, while the last 10% charged with whirlwind speed, as it only took 10 minutes to charge the phone fully.

Considering most of the time is wasted in the last 30%, the phone will be almost fully charged for a short period. In reality, playing 30 minutes of an online video, power will go down from 73% to 65% that is a decline of 8%. After a day of average use, the battery is left it at 34%, which is, considering the configuration, what is expect of a mid-level type of battery. But this one is better than other one's.

Finally, it should be mentioned that to achieve better fast charging, to ensure efficiency and safety, for the first time with the model Le 1s that Type-C 3A fast charge cable is being used.

There is also a Built-in PTC thermistor, to improve security in a multi-channel parallel transmission. If the cable is damaged or missing, it is suggested that you go to the official website and buy a new one, or purchase a high-quality specifications cable so you can avoid the danger risks that come when using and standard cable. The system / customization

The Le 1s has the LeTV EUI systems, based on Android 5.0.2 depth of customization. Le Super phone one that was released earlier this year had the 4.5 system version, which is now upgraded to 5.5. New systems regarding UI interface and system function changed little from the previous and still offers three desktops: Application Desktop recommended Desktop and Live Desktop.

Chipset, RAM, Storage

The LeEco Le 1s is powered by the MediaTek Helio X10 a, which is a 64-bit octa core chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz. This is the same chipset found on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. Among the budget devices currently available, the Helio X10 chipset compares among the best chipsets out there. Compared to 4GB on the flagship Le Max, the Le 1s comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage.

Software and OS
Just like the Le Max, the Le 1s also runs on Android 5.0 with a layer of its proprietary eUI. Simply put, the plain Android experience is refined by making it more practical. To begin with, there’s no app drawer, just like we see in most customised user interfaces.

Le1s

There’s a working homescreen where you swipe through apps. When you check out the Settings, the UI resembles iOS to quite an extent. In fact, it is a good looking and vivid user interface. However, the sheer amount of customisation possible here is what makes it interesting.  On the flip side, the company’s devices are known for added benefits, especially in terms of content.

Camera

On the camera front, the Le 1s has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). For selfie lovers, it comes equipped with a 5MP front-facing camera. The device supports slow motion video recording as well. And although the images we saw during looked good, we’d be able to give an informed opinion only after we do a detailed review of the Le 1s.

Battery and Connectivity

The ‘super value phone’ as LeEco refers to it, has a 3000mAh battery whereas the Le Max has a 3400mAh battery. According the LeEco, with fast charging, 5 minutes of charge time provides 3.5 hours of talktime.

In addition, the LeEco Le 1s supports all the prominent GSM bands including WCDMA for 3G services (quad band) as well as FDD and TDD LTE bands including 1800, 1900, 2100 and 2300 bands that are used in India. The dual SIM device supports a micro and a nano SIM. For navigation, it supports GPS, A-GPS and GlONASS.

The Le 1s, similar to the Le Max comes with the USB Type-C for faster charging. The connectivity options include Wi-FI 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, along with Wi-Fi Direct for streaming to a Wi-Fi Direct compatible smart TV. The Le 1s is fitted with an infrared port that lets the device add up as an infrared remote control for your television or set-top box. It also includes presets for most popular brands currently available.

Bottom line

When we used the Le Max, we were impressed. And why not, it is packed with specifications. And with that kind of a spec sheet, performance is bound to follow. yes, it is still premium, with a premium pricing. However, with the Le 1s, that is bound to change. Not only has it sweetened the deal in the price range of Rs 10999 that it was announced, it also betters the deal as an offering. It will further intensify the competition in the fierce Indian budget segment.
